The Human Rights Campaign represents a grassroots force of more than 700,000 members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, HRC envisions an America where GLBT people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.
Activists awakened by anti-GLBT campaigns formed BRO with the vision to build a movement that could defend against attacks, but would also built a pro-active movement brought real change to our state. Since 2000, Basic Rights Oregon has built a diverse movement made up of GLBT folks, straight-allies, rural and urban Oregonians, business leaders, clergy, elected officials, educators, parents and more as well as coalition partners in labor, healthcare, reproductive choice, civil liberties and racial justice organizations.
